About This Site

My name is Gail Langdon. Hello and welcome to Found My Jam.

This space is my tribute to the joy of storytelling. It is where I write about the shows and movies I experience, the admiration I have for the artists and actors I respect and the musicians for whom I am in constant peril of becoming a groupie.

I named the site “Found My Jam” which is a phrase that was originally attributed to the love of music. It has since been adopted to mean anything that is your groove, your rhythm, something that fits you, pleases you, agrees with you, represents you. Not only does the content on this site represent all the things I love, but my fondest hope is that anyone who visits, will find that this site is their jam too.

“You’re In The Right Place” will ring true for anyone who finds joy here.

I chose a colorful typewriter as the site’s logo as it symbolizes the primary tool of writers, for whom I have the deepest respect. Wherever I can, I will do my best to share thought-provoking points of view, interesting facts, good reading and plenty of amusement. Throughout this journey, I hope to do all I can to help others in whatever capacity possible.

I hope you delight in what you find here.

Cheers! Gail.

About My Work

Iโ€™m a writer, editor, and content creator dedicated to uplifting artists and celebrating their work. After my work in traditional entertainment reporting, I stepped away from an industry that often prioritized sensationalism over substance. Instead, I now concentrate my efforts on fan focused storytelling that highlights talent, creativity, and craft in a respectful and engaging way.

My work spans writing, podcast video/audio preparation and video production. Iโ€™ve written feature articles, produced editorial content, and filled my role as Editor on several projects connecting artists with their audiences. Soon, Iโ€™ll be launching my own podcast, so watch for that!

I came to this change in my career after years of running my own IT Consulting Firm specializing in Healthcare Enterprise Software implementation projects and Break/Fix Support Contracts. A college graduate of Computer Systems Technology, the depth and breadth of my experience spans roles ranging from application support through managing multi-disciplinary teams for requirements identification, process improvement, software evaluation, service gap alignment and Project Management. Trained 3M facilitator, BA, ITIL Certified and LSSGB Certified with various Microsoft disciplines including SharePoint Site Administration. She/Her.

13 Lives

At the “Thirteen” premiere in LA, the cast Ron Howard, Viggo Mortensen, Joel Edgerton, Rick Stanton, Colin Ferrell, and Tom Bateman were all on hand to celebrate the release of the movie, but more importantly, talk about the heroes the film depicts. Howard spoke about the importance of keeping the audience engaged but making sure to keep the details of the movie as accurate as possible. In contrast, Mortensen said about how hard it was getting into character and the process that went into cave diving. Others spoke about the claustrophobia they felt making the movie and how their teamwork kept them going to honor all those involved.

Dig

Thomas Jane and Harlow Jane (father/daughter in real-life) discuss what it was like working together for the first time in their newest thriller, Dig. Harlow talks about tackling her first full-length feature film, what it was like having to work using emotions only, and how much she learned from the other actors on set (including her dad). Meanwhile, Thomas spoke about the need for people not only to see this film but to understand the humanity in it. He gracefully takes time to dissect his character and the storyline while constantly giving props to his daughter (like a proud father would). In this must-see thriller, Thomas and Harlow do a fantastic job of leaning into the pain of their family’s tragedies while maintaining hope.
